AC intake cover needed ‘22?

I’m taking delivery in a week or two and remember some people saying there’s an uncovered air intake below front seats. Is that still true on new Ys or just early builds?

It’s under front seats and they sell covers for $10 on amazon. My Y P was built in Jan 22 and it’s uncovered.

There are floor air vents (not air intake) beneath the front seats for floor level heating and air conditioning for the rear passengers. As far as I am aware these vents are not covered. You can find suitable vent covers from several sources.

However …… there is a big air intake up under the hood in front of the passenger. Definitely a good idea to cover it so leaves etc don’t get down in the system. Great solution here:

Does anyone know of an aftermarket vent cover that'd fit this sized air intake? The car is a May '21 build. It seems that the intake is bigger than it used to be (as covers that I have seen all look too small). Thanks!

as of around July of '21 Model Y comes with a HEPA filter which eliminates the need to protect the opening you mentioned.
