Yes I highly recommend the lug/cap set. That way if you want the effiency you have it.

The OEM wheels are actually pretty nice wheels in terms of strength to weight ratio. It's hard to beat in the aftermarket (although definitely not impossible, especially if you move to a fully forged wheel$$). Most manufacturers put cheap crap on there to get it out the door at a low price but Tesla actually spec'ed some pretty nice wheels on the base model. I think they are pressure cast and then have a semi-forged (roll formed) rim for extra strength and lightness. I've seen a number of owners spend a lot of money to "downgrade" the wheels to a plain cast wheel so shop carefully!

The aeros unexpectedly grew on me, so I instead decided to spend the 2K I would have on TSportline 18" turbines to purchase some vaporware. 
It is so much more fun to leave the covers on, on one side and take them off on the other.
