Hi all,
I'm a school teacher from Los Altos, a short pedal or long stroll from Tesla HQ. I've been drooling over Tesla since the Roadster first appeared at the SF Car show in 2006, but I got impatient and bought the gas-powered version (Elise) instead. I finally bit the bullet and am now waiting on an red S due in a month or three. Something about red paint causing a delay. It will replace my current daily driver, a super-efficient but stupefyingly boring hybrid.
I've been a car guy forever, but as a former engineer, I am always wondering what to optimize -- performance, or efficiency. I think Tesla is the first to offer both (but certainly not economy!).
