Not a substitute for having a full hatchback, but would be nice for adding a space for extra storage or a dog riding in back. Reactions: Big Earl

Are you talking about the horizontal shelf with the two speakers and the central vent? So when you fold down the rear seat, you will have more room, instead of this unused area between the rear glass and the horizontal shelf. The only problem is that the car is a unibody type of frame, so the horizontal shelf is part of the frame and is needed for structural reinforcement. I think the simplest would be to wait for the Model Y to get more rear volume space. Reactions: tracksyde and Big Earl
