Anyone use a bump step to protect the rear bumper??

Live in the city where people tend to park by braille. Has anyone used a bump step that connects to the trailer hitch to protect the rear bumper?

I don't think that's really the purpose for that step bumper. How will it reduce or minimize the damage from a rear impact?
But since you bring this up, I think these would do a better job.
