Audio warnings and messages

I see that self steering cars will be allowed in the UK quite soon. BBC news article also had a short video in which warnings were audio.

That's one thing that would add enormously to a positive driving experience - spoken messages.

As it is now, messages flash up and disappear too soon, in text too small to read comfortably (old eyes), and if I missed it, it's gone. And I have to take my eyes off the road to read them, which is dangerous, so many of the warnings and messages are lost on me.

If they were spoken, I would hear them and recall what I'd heard, and not have to take my eyes off the road.

I wonder if Tesla has any plans to do this?

Spoken warnings including volume control (as with navigation) would be useful as long as the visual message still appears. In this case volume can be set to zero & anyone who finds it annoying or unnecessary has the option to disable.

....thinking about it, Brian Blessed mode to drown out (a certain) passenger expletives when I accelerate too hard could be extremely useful.
