Autopilot Detecting Blinkers?

Was on the freeway this evening in crawling traffic when a car in an adjacent lane put their blinker on, Autopilot immediately slowed to make a gap for them to come across... I've never seen this behaviour before, running 2019.8.5, Model S, AP2.5.

Thoughts? Has there been any mention of AP detecting blinkers?

I know in the autonomy day Andrej Karpathy mentioned "cut-in detection," that might look at turn signals.

It's either 1. a coincidence or 2. doesn't work very well at all because most of the time the car doesn't do this

It seems to be the cut-in/merge action, not the blinker itself (yet).

I had this happen shortly after getting my S and I believe I was on 2018.48.12 at the time. I had a truck put his blinker on and he did not move out of his lane yet and the car slowed down to allow him to merge. I may still have the recording from that.

Here is the video. You will see just as the truck is about to leave the viewing area their turn signal is engaged and thats when the car slowed down to allow them to merge.
