Well yes, the security code is needed to disable the alarm after it is activated, but that is changeable by the owner. There is no "backdoor" code, just the default one set when the car was new. The one people think is a no-no to post here is the service code. But the OP already has that one.
 
I've had five people PM me asking for details on this. It seems that the problem is more widespread than initially expected. I guess that more and more Roadsters are coming on the second hand market and the PIN codes are not being transferred with ownership.

Due to the security issues surrounding this, I don't really think this should be widely publicised at the moment (without Tesla's approval). I'll chase them up. In the meantime, if individuals (with some reputation here) need help, please PM me and I will reply.
