Hi guys,

Does anyone know how many vehicles require new battery and motors as the vehicles get older. What is the short and long term replacement requirement for these components? How does this compare to conventional engine cars?

side note: IF you have a Jag XKE - Jag was replacing engines with electric motors and batteries. And you could always switch back to the original engine.

Engine component replacement is well documented and it's easy to understand replace of components (ancillaries, bearings, clutch, etc.) and the corresponding cost

I'm not sure how this compares in a Tesla. How often does the battery and motor need replacing and how much does it cost? It's not exactly something you can Google to find a list of companies selling components
