I would say it is likely possible, but not probably something you can do yourself.

@wk057 would know the answer, and could probably help, but he is all the way on the other side of the country.

Of course doing that would certainly void the remaining portion of the 8 year warranty on both batteries...

I was hoping that the local Tesla service center could do it. They are able to drop a failed battery and replace it with a new one. I was wondering if it is possible based on the physical size of the battery and also the connections. Both cars are dual motor.
Yes, it is possible. But it is very unlikely that you could get a Tesla service center to do it for you. (But there is no harm in asking.)
