Battery problem Service Required ID 259 data 0x0004

Hi, my roadster #256 has less than 40000 miles on it. The range has slowly decreased over tiem from ~220 to most recently around 185 miles.
Then out of the blue, I get this error message when charging:
"Battery Problem: Service Required"
ID: 259 data 0x000004

Tesla Motors is looking at it right now. Do any of you have seen this have any sage advice?

Hi Ross, did you have any update on the above?
I am having the same issue, and also the red dash 'FAULT' is illuminated.
Did Tesla give you any feedback?

Hi Ross - how did your "ID: 259 data 0x000004" problem get resolved? I've just started getting the same message (VIN#21, in the UK).

If anybody else recognises this issue it would be great to hear about it!
