BC EV rebate to run out of money soon?

6 days later we are now at 4.4 mil....

Did the sales rapidly went down? They were doing 400-500k a day since May 1st and now we're doing more like 100k / day now.

Tesla alone is doing average of 80-140 deliveries a day in Vancouver. That's 400k alone even if we take the low-end of 80 cars delivered.
I think the counter is a bit deceptive as the incentive application might be done in waves.

Got this reply to my email from 9 days ago,
Hi <name redacted>,

We have seen unprecedented levels of clean energy vehicle (CEV) sales since the Federal government added its incentives starting May 1, 2019, which has resulted in greater success than anticipated. To meet the unprecedented demand experienced by the CEVforBC incentive program the Province has added an additional $10 million to the incentive program. This $10 million is the first installment of funds from the $42 million announced in Budget 2019. There will not be a gap between the current funding and the new Budget 2019 funding.

Cheers,

So no decrease in amounts per vehicle, in fact they've apparently added another $10 million to the ~$30 million in waiting people have recently talked about (if I read this correctly). I'm not certain I am reading it correctly though.

However, no more gaps in funding apparently, so there's that.

A day late, but at least not a dollar short. I just received this email from the Ministry in response to my question back in May as to whether we should expect there to be a gap in funding given the demand. I'm assuming it's already a little long in the tooth because there was another $5M recently added (which is down to $3.8M), but sounds like there should be no gap for the remaining $27M still to go. Get 'er while you can!

Does this mean the BC EV rebate has been depleted? We just noticed that our loan changed from -10,000 to -5,000 for EV incentives yesterday. We do not have an official delivery date but Tesla did state they expected our car to be delivered by this Wednesday. Now we are wondering what is going on as the loan shows we need to pay an additional 4907 as of yesterday. There has been no contact from Tesla in regard to this change.

I just noticed the same happened to my order (SR+ black/black), except I chose cash payment. My tentative delivery date is June 23, and there hasn’t been a VIN assigned. No contacts from Tesla yet whatsoever...

We ordered the exact same configuration, hopefully this is an error in some way. We were told last week to expect the car by Wednesday but we still haven’t heard from a delivery specialist or had a VIN assigned yet either.

Easy for me to say because I picked mine up last week (and was stressing myself), but there's another $27M funds allocated in the BC budget, so funds for the rebate shouldn't be an issue and I can't imagine Tesla changing their pricing structure so the M3 is ineligible for the federal rebate. A weird glitch, but I'm betting just that.

VIN just appeared in my account (vehicle reported June 17th according to VIN check), but the incentive total is still 5000. My guess is they’ve changed the way they display totals to avoid giving the false impression that they’ve secured the incentives until those are done. Maybe mine will be updated soon now that a VIN is assigned. Hopefully...

I hope it works out! My vin just appeared in the source code but not on the account page yet. Thanks for the update.

I ordered mine a week ago so I'm guessing VIN # will show up in a week or so (hopefully). I contacted Tesla Kitsilano and the advisor told me I should be getting my Model 3 before July cause of the quarter. I'm worried about rebate running out before I get my delivered...but it seems like others in this forum

Anyone else in the same situation as me?

I think you are fine. Tesla would have already reserved funds for you. At the current rate, 900K should last till Saturday anyways. You can always refuse it on the day of delivery if they are not giving you rebates.

I agree that you will be fine- on your account login do you have the MVPA yet - it is clearly stated in there as well.

Even thought my DA had said that Tesla don't "reserve" the incentive but I think once your order has been assigned a VIN they do actually reserve the funds.

Hope you have a great experience on pickup!

I’m picking up my car on Saturday, the rebates at 900k, should I postpone my delivery to guarantee the rebate or do you guys think it’ll top up before then?

Have you received your MVPA? My delivery is on Sunday, and my MVPA was just uploaded to my account today showing inclusion of both government incentives. I confirmed with my DA that the amount shown in the MVPA would be the amount due upon delivery.

My delivery is scheduled for Sunday as well and I have the MVPA that shows both incentives. The sales rep said once the fund runs out your out of luck though, so there is mixed information. Not really sure what to do on Sunday as I expect the fund to run out before then.

I've called the cevforbc program and they confirmed there is 30+ million still to come and that the provincial gov has planned to not have any funding gaps... but they can't confirm when it will be deposited, so there might actually still be a gap.

All a little frustrating, and the top it off I've been given two different addresses to pick up the car and the DA will not respond to confirm where I am supposed to go, the Tesla support line just hangs up on you, and the sales center phone just rings and rings until they forward you back to the headquarters... where it again just hangs up on you. Pretty frustrating, I hope this isn't a sign of things to come with ownership.
