Blue Highlight overlay on MPH

While driving on autopilot a blue highlight appeared at top of screen overlaying onto the MPH indicator. This blue haze/highlight came and went several times. At first I thougt I was imagining this but it continued. Another bit of info is that I had just visited a supercharger. Has anyone seen this? I could not find anything about it in the manual.

This is the visual warning that you need to lightly shake your steering wheel so that AP knows you have hands on. If you ignore the blue flash it will then tell you to grab the wheel and lightly shake it.

Thanks....I was actually holding the steering wheel the entire time and never got the notice to grab the wheel. I guess I'll have to shake it, or maybe tap it like a drum, rather than just holding it.

Yes it just needs slight input on the wheel to know you are holding it. It doesn't have sensors to detect your hands, so it just need some slight feedback from you to ensure you have your hands on the wheel.

Wow, don't know how I missed this. Did search in manual under 'blue'. Guess I flew through it too quickly. Thanks so much for your help. I can't imagine all the things I don't know about this car.

There are lots of great videos on YouTube. You can find a video for just about every Tesla Model 3 feature that exists, but you need a lot of free time to watch them all!

Torque not shake. It is a learned technique and you can press or rotate one of the steering wheel buttons while you learn.
