Blue - Paint Issue

Hi, I got my Model 3 yesterday. She is a beauty!! All good on the exterior and interior. However, I noticed that areas behind all 4 door hinges (when opened) is not painted well. It’s not noticeable unless you peek in to see. The only external area that looks similar is in the trunk, near the back up camera.

Is this a common occurrence? Is this worth reporting to Tesla?

Very hit and miss on door jamb paint especially blue for some reason.

See this thread.

If it's any consolation Tesla wouldn't do anything about it (only item out of 18 on my due bill they wouldn't fix) but they did they'd warranty any issues related to thin paint (e.g. rusting from scratches). I made them send it in writing just in case, but it's primered so not likely going to be a problem.

Yeah, mine looks similar to the photos. I also discovered fingerprints in the clear coat on the trunk and rear fender (sigh) when I washed the car yesterday. Fortunately I was able to polish most of that out.

Mine has something similar to a very large sand particle imbedded in the paint. I took delivery on a rainy day and the car was outside under a carport and it was difficult to see all the paint flaws. Finally had the chance to wash it about a week ago and noticed some other paint defects. Contacted Tesla and they added the additional items to my due bill.

Yeah, I had a paint chip on the front end at delivery that I had added to my due bill, but kept delaying getting it fixed as I didn't want to deal with being without the car for 1-2 weeks. Now, 3 months later there are a number of paint chips on the front end and I've just decided to say screw it on that item. I would have pushed them on the fingerprints in the clear coat if I wasn't able to address it with my porter cable polisher and fancy detailing supplies from a previous life (i.e. before kids when I actually had time).
