Bluetooth Problems

Def a problem. For me it does not appear to be bluetooth, but rather the entire audio subsystem. When it cuts out even blinkers don't make sounds. Has been happening since the 9 upgrade (38). Just got the 42 build, not sure if it's continuing.

EDIT: Blinker sounds stop as well as the voice assistant. I tried "Report bug" last time it happened and that wouldn't work either. Took several tries before it came back to life.

i received an email reply from my escalation on Thursday,

"Thank you for reaching out to us here at the Executive Care Team. I am sorry to hear about this issue. The ideal channel to address acute vehicle functionality issues or questions would be to call our vehicle support and roadside assistance hotline. We have a dedicated team of vehicle support and roadside assistance specialists, available 24/7 for you at:
Toll Free: 877 798 3752

They can assist with live diagnosis and troubleshooting. If they can not solve the problem remotely with you over the phone, they can capture the relevant data from your vehicle including time stamps and forward this to a service team for further processing.
In this case, I would like to offer some trouble shooting steps.

Reboot:
1. Put the car in park position
2. Press the brake and at the same time, press down the two scrolling wheel buttons on your steering wheel until the touchscreen goes black and allow time while still pressing the buttons, the Tesla Symbol comes back
3. Release the brake and the buttons

If that does not work, I would try a power - cycle:

1. Unplug any charging equipment
2. Put the car in park position
3. go to controls-E-brake and Power OFF. Click button and confirm.
4. Wait 4 minutes in the vehicle without opening any doors or windows or pushing any buttons or the brake.
5. After 4 minutes, press the brake and everything should come back on.

If this does not resolve the issue, please contact our dedicated vehicle support specialists.

For future customer support needs, please feel free to reach out directly to our dedicated customer support teams via [email protected]."

I also tried BT streaming from my phone today for the first time in a few days. The issue occurred twice but self-resolved quickly enough that I was able to use the "Bug Report" voice command to submit it as a bug. I was told that a bug report sends the last five and next five minutes of 'data' (not sure what data) to Tesla for troubleshooting.

Today I had the BT / audio stack cutout occur once every few minutes during an hour-long drive. Each outage was only for 10-20 seconds and it came back on its own. I also had the outage when my phone was docked and undocked so that does not appear to be a factor. Did the "bug report" each time via voice commands.

Ok, so I decided to call Roadside Assistance today during my latest outage. I was on hold for twenty minutes but here's what I was told,
  1. A reboot or power cycle might temporarily solve the issue but it's just that, temporary. This is a known software bug. My audio was out for the remainder of my drive but came back after a stop at a shopping center (parked for about ten minutes).
  2. The person I spoke to seemed confident that this is fixed in 44.1 (maybe 44 as well but only 44.1 is shown on Teslafi.com as going out to 3s)
  3. She also stated that the "Bug Report" voice command is helpful even if others are reporting the same issue. It helps Tesla collect info on how widespread a problem is and how to prioritize fixes.
I'm at 42.4 right now so I'll certainly retest once I get 44.1.

Having this exact same issue on 2018.48.12.1. Happens on and off for a few minutes each time I get in the car (like it's trying to wake up and figure itself out) and also had it happen a handful of times during a roadtrip over christmas. Same deal with no blinker sounds, no voice assistance, etc when it drops out.

Still have this issue with our Model 3 on an iPhone Xr on version 50.6! My wife’s iPhone 8plus is totally fine. Pretty disappointed in Tesla that it’s been this long with no resolution. My Model s Works perfectly.

Just picked up my Model 3 and the same issue on Android and iPhone with bluetooth connection on and off. Managed to debug by disabling the contact sync function on both phone (for Android) and car end. No problem at all ever since. I suspect this is a system glitch on Tesla's front. Car on software version 2019.8.4.
