I think if the % and range were displayed together then it would be easier for people to start comparing their vehicles with others and it would turn into a PR problem. If person A's 80% condition read 250 miles and person B's read 243 miles then someone will be pissed, even though this is normal. I realize people can do this today by toggling and making note of the number pairs. Manufacturers in general do not like having consumers compare numbers like this because people will easily think there is something wrong with their car if the numbers don't match others.
