Energy display rhyme or reason

Is there any rhyme or reason as to why the energy consumption display shows up and then goes away and radio shows then energy again.
This doesn’t happen all the time but it happens and I can’t figure out why.

I’ve seen that happen on my road trips, and I think it might be when the car doesn’t think you’ll make it to the next charging stop without slowing down or taking other action. The car is always wrong in those cases, just a bit too conservative sometimes.

In my case I’m not sure. I had plenty of charge. Also I have no idea what I’m reading or how to decipher what it says. So as far as I’m concerned it’s just a useless pop up.

When the energy display pops up, do you see a small yellow triangle/warning type of icon in the lower right corner of the display? If so, this pop up will happen when you transition from a condition where regen is limited to no limit on regen. When it's a little colder, this will happen when the battery is cold, as in lower than about 20C. You may see the energy display pop up for a few seconds when you first start the car to alert there is a limit, and then you'll see it pop back up as the limitation goes away.
