Brake lights during regenerative braking

I did a quick search but didn't see anything mentioned about this topic. Do the brake lights turn on when you are slowing down via regenerative braking?

If it does not, then wouldn't it be safer to have it do so, especially on the freeway? Some people really like to tailgate and if you suddenly slow down but your brake lights do not turn on, it may be inviting an accident. I do know that the little Model 3 image shows the brake lights when you actually brake or when you have hill assist engaged, but it is hard to tell if the brake lights are on during regen braking because the model is viewed from the top down and not from the back like when you are sitting at a stoplight.

Yup, the brake lights turn on. Next time you drive at night, turn on the rear cam era and as you let off for regen, you can notice the red lights and sort of judge how well they work.
Yes, your brake lights turn on when in regen. The image of the car on the screen will show the taillights light up. Hard to see because the image is small.
Also harder to see the brake lights come on the little dash image if your car has red paint.

There is a certain point of actual deceleration needed with regen before the brake lights kick on. They don't come on instantly when you lift your go foot. That would be bothersome from behind.

Thanks for everyone's help! I'll definitely try to notice it on the rear cam next time.

Maybe it is different on the M3 RWD, but on the MX AWD, the brake light does not always come on when you are traveling slow. If you are going on local or traffic on the freeway, it will only come on if it is over certain threshold. If you are going over 25 and completely release the accel petal, it will come on. But if you are going 15 and slowly releasing the petal half way.... regen brake will kick in but brake light won't come on.
