Question for those who went the preapproval route for the CA rebate. I applied for preapproval for my rebate on Saturday. Ended up picking up the car on Sunday. I went online to check and apparently preapproval takes 65 days! I thought this was to expedite the process and maybe it does. Once I am preapproved (guessing November), will providing the signed MVPA and any other supporting documents finish the process and will I get the rebate faster than if I had waited to apply?
I'm not really sure what the preapproval process does short of give you a 14 day window to buy a car. Am I missing something?
