Can anyone take a picture of the inside top of their trunk?

I believe there is a new piece that covers the window in the top trunk area. I'm trying to check if my piece is installed correctly as it doesn't fill up the entire space.

OK, there's another thread on this topic called Rear Deck Cutout I think. Seems that more current production cars are coming with some type of baffle in that cutout whereas previous models didn't have it. It is speculated that the cut out exists for ventilation airflow and as a subwoofer port.

I covered the entire ceiling of my truck with sound insulating foam. And covered up the cutout too.

No of course not. That would be too scientific. Lol

I also put mass loaded vinyl in the frunk, trunk and under the backseat floor mats.

And put the silly RPM Tesla rubber ring on the roof...

I imagine that it the car a ounds slighter quieter

Not very many people have that baffle so don't know, but it is not surprising there is a gap for air to pass since the HVAC ventilates through vents in the trunk. It may also help the bass to have a vent.

I am considering the same. Did you install any mlv in the trunk area down by the vents on each side? That area seems ripe for air/sound to vibrate around in. The pictures I've seen show just bare metal in that whole area.

Yes, you need to remove the carpet. One on each side down low on the side of the car...vents out behind the bumper cover on side. In this pic you can see it from the outside.

I am considering the same. Did you install any mlv in the trunk area down by the vents on each side? That area seems ripe for air/sound to vibrate around in. The pictures I've seen show just bare metal in that whole area.

I pretty much just copied the shape of the Tesla all weather trunk mat and laid the MLV under it.
