Can't have texts read after 2023.26.1 update

Incoming texts don't get audibly read after update to 2023.26.1 (I'm not 100% sure that's when the problem started but it started very close to that update). I get a notification that there's a new text then I press the little blue thingy but don't hear anything.

The spot spot you touch may have moved. I think you press the message now instead of the blue button. Mine read texts this weekend, but I fumbled with it initially.
