I haven't tried this, but if it accepts four digits, would dialing 9111 go to 911? Decades ago, if you dialed 911 followed by any other digits, it connected you to 911 as soon as the second "1" was pressed.
That may work for a landline touch-tone phone but I doubt that would work in today's world of cell phones. You typically enter the numbers and then press a separate button to send or call. The car's own dialer works the same way. In any event, I'm not willing to try saying "dial 9 1 1 1" just in case it DOES work . I think that the current workaround of entering 911 as a contact in your phone's storage is passable, although an update to the car's software to allow 3-digit phone numbers would be more universal.
