Has anyone here done many long distance drives? Any problems? Like I said, Vegas too Spokane.
I’ve done that drive in my S70D in winter, and it was pretty easy. I went through SLC, which is a traffic nightmare, but other than an against the wind snow storm section from Tremonton, UT to Twin Falls, it was simple. I stayed at the Tremonton SC hotel and one near the SC in Nephi, UT. If going today, I’d either take I-15 to I-90 or go through Reno, Susanville (overnight), Bend, The Dalles, Kennewick, etc. for the scenery. Several of those SCs weren’t built on my last trip to Tucson. I’m still not brave enough to try Boise to Winnamucca.

It’s best if you can guarantee overnight charging at your hotel, especially if that charge allows you to skip the next SC. Even a 120V plug really helps. In the northern areas, most hotels have multiple plugs for winter block heaters. I’ve had success charging to 70% at the SC, then topping up overnight on 120V. If staying multiple nights, the 120V plug gives you 40-60 mi of daily driving. However, with my smaller battery, I’m rarely able to skip a SC in the PNW or West. With the additional SCs added in the past two years, skipping SCs is getting easier.

I don't think my hotel has one, but I rarely drive at all when I'm up there. I'm talking maybe 50 miles in a month.
What hotel? There are several showing in the downtown area. It’s easier (though often more expensive) to stay at a hotel that has Tesla destination charging. Alternatively, bring a Chademo adapter and use one of those DCQC units. Spokane is probably the most environmentally conscious city in the eastern 2/3rds of WA, so you should expect a relatively large number of EVs

Unfortunately, that’s not a great EV charging prospect. Ask at the front desk, and look around the parking lot and buildings for a 120V plug. You may get lucky. Sometimes, I have even run a12ga extension cord in through my ground floor window (definitely not the best, but that was back before I could find anything.). Definitely, get the GreenLots app and be prepared to use a nearby station during dinners.

It looks like there are two Tesla destination chargers at Oxford Suites Spokane Valley, which is not too far from that hotel (and from PlugShare, sounds like non-hotel guests can use it?)

In a pinch you could probably just drive 30 mins to the super charger in Coeur d'Alene and top off in an hour. It looks like they are supposed to be building a super charger in Spokane as well, but who knows when that will be done.

Here I am awake at 3AM. Might as well do something helpful. I know most of your route.

Getting to Spokane should be NP charging-wise. Weather-wise the entire route can be treacherous in winter. I-15 from LAS with SCs in St George, Beaver, Nephi, Tremonton. I-84 from Tremonton with SCs inTwin Falls, Boise, Baker City, Pendleton. Leave I-84 near Umatilla OR, then to SCs in Kennewick WA & Ritzville WA. I’ve done the route St George to Kennewick several times & used all those SCs. I’ve also been able to skip some of them enroute.

Dunno where you plan on overnighting. There are hotels in Cedar City & Filmore UT that have free Tesla destination chargers. Multiple hotel choices with free Tesla or J-1772 charging in Provo, Salt Lake, Lehi, & Brigham City UT. Also Heyburn ID, Twin Falls, and Meridian ID. I’m not aware of any hotels between Boise & Pendleton wIth L2 chargers. The SC in Pendleton OR is at a native-American owned Hotel/Casino.

I don’t know local charging in the Spokane Valley. At 50 miles / month you should be able to find enough charging, even using 120V wall plugs.

Am I correct, there's no supercharger in metro Spokane? That seems like an oversight, given the population of the area. I guess the closest one is in Coeur d'Alene.

Hello from Vancouver, Wash (fairly frequent visitor to Spokane),

Hi all: I am going to be in that neck of the woods for about 7-8 weeks. I live in Las Vegas. Can someone give me some tips on best places to charge, as I don't see a SuperCharger there yet? Thanks for the assist. -David

The Riverfront Square mall has four L2 chargers on the 7th (?) floor of their parking garage. This garage is actually a pretty decent place to park if you’re going to be downtown. Right across the street from Riverfront Park which is really nice to walk around in. There is an AMC movie theater in the mall and your standard mall style shops. It’s within a pretty safe walking distance of some nice downtown restaurants. I think you get about 6 to 7kW from the chargers. If you have the time to catch a movie you’ll gain probably 12 to 15kWh. The charger is free (need to activate with green lots app) but I think I paid $9 parking for four or five hours (validated with a movie ticket but I think that was only a $1 discount).
