I’ve done that drive in my S70D in winter, and it was pretty easy. I went through SLC, which is a traffic nightmare, but other than an against the wind snow storm section from Tremonton, UT to Twin Falls, it was simple. I stayed at the Tremonton SC hotel and one near the SC in Nephi, UT. If going today, I’d either take I-15 to I-90 or go through Reno, Susanville (overnight), Bend, The Dalles, Kennewick, etc. for the scenery. Several of those SCs weren’t built on my last trip to Tucson. I’m still not brave enough to try Boise to Winnamucca.Has anyone here done many long distance drives? Any problems? Like I said, Vegas too Spokane.
What hotel? There are several showing in the downtown area. It’s easier (though often more expensive) to stay at a hotel that has Tesla destination charging. Alternatively, bring a Chademo adapter and use one of those DCQC units. Spokane is probably the most environmentally conscious city in the eastern 2/3rds of WA, so you should expect a relatively large number of EVsI don't think my hotel has one, but I rarely drive at all when I'm up there. I'm talking maybe 50 miles in a month.
Unfortunately, that’s not a great EV charging prospect. Ask at the front desk, and look around the parking lot and buildings for a 120V plug. You may get lucky. Sometimes, I have even run a12ga extension cord in through my ground floor window (definitely not the best, but that was back before I could find anything.). Definitely, get the GreenLots app and be prepared to use a nearby station during dinners.Fairfield Inn and suites on Mission
Hi all: I am going to be in that neck of the woods for about 7-8 weeks. I live in Las Vegas. Can someone give me some tips on best places to charge, as I don't see a SuperCharger there yet? Thanks for the assist. -David
