Clicking noise??

Omg thank you @PunchIT for this. My car is making the exact same sound and its driving me crazy. I already called and made an appt to get my car seen next week. In the past few days, I'm noticing this all the time, but I don't know if it is because it has become more prevalent or just because I figured out its coming from my car (rather than my imagination or bumps) and now hear it all the time, even over my music.

"You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad."

Haha! Tesla will take care of you!

And it only makes this noise when pressing or letting off on the accelerator

My 2013 P85 has recently started to this.

I get strange looks because the car makes no noise except this very noticeable clicking sound when moving from a complete stop or letting off the accelerator at slow speeds (like stop and go traffic).

Not looking forward to the SC visit, but hope it's a quick fix and not as bad as DU replacement.

In my case, Tesla replaced both halves of the rear axle and hubs. When they did that, they found a different sound in the DU that was being masked, so they also swapped out my DU. So far, so good!

I know that the DU noises have been talked about as nauseum here and I read through most of the pages but didn't see my noise. (I tried to upload a short video I took but I can't get it to upload) anyhow when depressing the accelerator and letting off there is a loud clicking sound almost like gears changing on a bicycle. I sent the video to my SC and they said it's a rock BUT how does a rock get inside an enclosed unit? And it only makes this noise when pressing or letting off on the accelerator. If anyone can tell me how to upload my video id be happy to do it.

Many question has anyone else heard something similar? I'm taking it in next week but have a planned trip this weekend and now am a bit worried to be so far from my SC.

I had the same issue on my 2016 90D Model S. It came from the front left axle. I went to the SC and they oiled it up and I was out of there in like an hour and the sound is gone.

I’m having this from the front of my 2016 x about 90% of the time. Noisy click when regen comes on and when starting from a stop.

they made me authorize a $155 inspection fee, saying “noises aren’t covered” under warranty.

but if it’s a DU I assume it will be covered?
