Climate not working properly (won’t maintain set temp)

After getting my car back from the SC, this is what I was told:

With the time stamp that you gave me I was unable to find any system faults what would cause the system to not operate. I performed all my checks and could find no faults or malfunctions with the system at this time. Reviewing the data for the time stamp shows that the ambient temp was very low which in turn causes low pressure in the refrigerant system. This is normal operation and would not cause any faults. But, I found some information that stated that with this low ambient temps and pressure the system would not allow the climate keep or preconditioning to be activated. This behavior is set to be changed in firmware release 2020.8 which I do not have available to me to install at this time. The firmware will allow the system to be activated at least for heat regardless of ambient temps and pressures of the refrigerant system. Due to your concerns I wanted a seconded opinion on this, so I escalated a session and they concur with my findings.

Unfortunately I do not have a solid ETA on this 2020.8 firmware release at this time. Once the vehicle is updated to this firmware, continue to monitor the issue and provide us with feedback.

My car is still having issues intermittently too. Usually when it’s below 40° and parked outside all night. My service center had my car for two days this week checking it out. When they were done all the service advisor texted me was:

“Concern is related to known firmware bug. Invoice sent to email with complete details.”

The invoice didn’t say much, so I appreciate the details that you shared.

I have the exact same problem as cutwolf. It's in the sc now and i have given them my extensive timestamped temperature measurements outlining the fact that the hvac does not heat anything according to my own sensor while the tesla temp thinks it does. Only at HI something happens.

I also notice cold air when making an extended turn, really strange.

I’ve been able to trigger it twice by trying to start climate control after the car has fully charged for awhile (over night) and the charger has been very recently removed or is still in, and it’s cold outside. Not sure if it’s a coincidence.
