Sunday evening, about 6:50 pm I was stopped in traffic in my 2020 Model Y when a 2001 Dodge Ram with oversized tires and suspension suddenly appeared. I was able to drive it home, about 6 miles, with a state police escort, and today it went to Dimmitt Collision for repairs. I was told that it could be March before it is restored. My insurance company is paying for me to rent a Model S from Hertz. I ordered a new red one yesterday and will sell the 2020 Model Y when it is restored.

My insurance policy covers $15,000 in rental expenses and is paying $85/day for the Tesla with direct billing. Hertz in Clearwater had several Model 3s, all reserved, but they got an almost new red one for me from St. Petersburg. It is interesting that the glovebox and hood are locked.

The car went to Dimmitt on November 14. I was recently told that it will be painted on March 13, and I should have it back mid-April. I believe the cost is increasing. I still have my Hertz Model 3, but I believe that my rental insurance will end some time in late March. My insurance company waived my $500 deductible.

I am now told that my car should be repaired by the end of May. The shop took the car November 14. My insurance had been paying for a Hertz Model 3 since then, but the shop was supposed to take over payments on April 1, but because of some screwup my Amex card is being charged $95/day.
