Model Y will be in shop at Tesla recommended facility 10 months on 9/14/2023

My 2020 Model Y had front end damage on November 13, 2022. I had it towed to the recommended repair facility in Oldsmar, Florida. The parts were received months ago, but labor shortage has delayed repair, which will be ten months on September 14. My insurance company paid for the Tesla Model 3 rental from Hertz through March 31, and the shop has been paying the rental since then.

Sounds like you need to take your parts and car to another shop. Unless you like the loaner car. Is the shop maintaining SOC? Are they parking it outside?

The shop is owned by an automotive group that sells new Aston Martin, Bentley, Cadillac, Audi, Jaguar, Land Rover, McLaren, and Rolls-Royce. It was highly recommended by Tesla, but their back lot has many high-end cars waiting for repair. In mid-April I stopped by - my Tesla was in a frame jig, but the shop only had 2 techs that could do the necessary work. Every month they tell me it will be the next month, but then they just renew the Hertz lease.

I'm surprised that your insurance hasn't changed their mind and totalled it yet. I'd wager that if they knew that they'd be on the hook for 10 months of rental car(lets assume $30 a day very optimistically), that's 9000 and they wouldn't have even tried to fix it.

This week the repair shop towed it to Tesla since it could start to drive. It will be one year on November 14 that it has been in the shop.
