    I liked the TED presentation, particularly the "baby pictures" and video at the end.

    One thing I love about Tesla Motors is that they are optimistic and see science and technology as the path to solving our world's problems. I still feel that way too, but most people do not. It seems in the modern world most people view science and technology as something to fear. They view it as the cause of our problems, not the solution.

    I think that's one reason why nobody has stepped forward to fund Dr. Bussard's fusion reactor. It's a scientific solution to the world's problems, but the movers and shakers have already decided that our problems can only be solved through suffering and sacrifice (of the lowly masses, not themselves of course) rather than by pluck and ingenuity.
