Control arms life?

2012 signature

Went in for drive train issue under warranty but they said I had to replace control arms.

Total $1500 USD (2000 CDN)

Reasonable for a car this old?

As an aside the problem was 12v battery went dead which they traced to a fuse in the main battery which they traced to a drive train issue. Strange.

What fault did they find that said you needed to replace your control arms?

Not ridiculous to wear out the bushings in a control arm. I replaced them on my truck at 10 years abd 147k as the bushings were cracking. Bushings were not sold separately so I had to buy the whole arm. I think it was only about $150 a side though, but that's a Honda and not a Tesla!

yes control arms is a strong failure point on the model S. I was looking at some girl's blue tron looking vehicle wheel just completely twist around and she spun around in the street. I do not want that happening
