Has anyone been able to de-activate the touch screen, rendering it unresponsive to finger (or ear) touch? I've used a physical barrier approach temporarily. Next would be finding a fuse that would kill the screen yet restore it reliably without issues, ie 60 miles from home you don't want a dead car from a touch screen that won't wake up.

They way I think about it is that the pack has a small firmware in it which tells the car what kind of pack it is. With that information the system can regulate all the other systems.

Probably all it would need is a hard coded serial number that the car can read. A serial number, like the cars VIN, can be encode with the battery type. Its doesn't have to necessarily be something, like firmware, that can be changed.
