Dash Cam install

Newbie just got a 2013 S P85+ and wanted to install a dash cam on the windshield. Hid a 15’ mini USB (Amazon $9) cable from behind mirror to the 12v outlet in the center console. Took about 10 minutes to tuck it all through headliner/door liner and under passenger seat.
The key to note that although the two USB outlets stay alive after exiting the car, the 12v outlet does not and switches off the camera.

There is a better location in the microphone panel for always-on power. Here's how it's done with lots of photos: Dashcam Power Cable – TeslaTap It doesn't require the extensive wire routing you did (although nothing wrong with that)!

I like to have my dashcam on all the time, even when parked. The power drain is negligible with an EV (although a problem in ICE cars).
