Data Charges?

Tesla hasn't figured out what they want to do about that yet as far as I know. The car should continue to operate as it does currently until they get a billing system worked out.
That's ... ominous.
So basically, I SHOULD have had all of these features from the beginning, as well, and they just added streaming audio now...? And I will get billed, probably, someday...

Just received an email that Netflix will not work in Tesla’s starting December 1st 2019 because of technical limitations.
What the hell is that all about??? We just got the update in the 10.0 update. When I called Netflix they told me this is true. The Netflix app will not work in Tesla after December 1st 2019!! I am wondering if it has something to do with Tesla starting to charge for data plans??

Here is the email:

We wanted to let you know that a device you recently watched Netflix on will no longer be available after December 1st, 2019, due to technical limitations. The impacted device will display a message when you open Netflix to remind you of this upcoming change.
You can still enjoy Netflix with our latest features on many TV devices as well as phones, tablets, and computers. Please visit netflix.com/compatibledevices for our complete device list.

Marking "disagree" because I disagree that this has anything to do with "tesla" and is likely related to some other device you have on your netflix account.

You're not gonna get back charged. They will eventually start charging going forward one of these days.

Elon mumbled something $100/yr one time long ago. It may be tiered or something to include Video now, who knows.

Meanwhile relax and enjoy the show.

one would assume that Tesla ended up with some cat's ass data package as a multiple user else the fees would be exorbitant.

I know at my company we are a high volume user of phones; thousands of them; we have a screaming deal from the Telco - works out to about $10/month for each phone for unlimited NA calling and 15 Gigs worth of data per device/month.

No... Every Model 3 Ordered before July of 2018 came with lifetime premium connectivity... Every model Mid-Range or better Model 3 since then comes with 1-year of premium connectivity, after which it will supposedly be ~$100/yr. However, to date, no Tesla owner ever has been charged for connectivity, nor has it been turned off. If you bought a Standard Range or Standard Range +, then you do NOT have premium connectivity (i.e., no internet streaming or web browser when not on wifi), but Tesla has said they will offer something to allow SR/SR+ to buy premium connectivity later. That has not happened as of yet either.

You will quickly learn that Tesla says a lot of things. Sometimes those things happen, sometimes different things happen, sometimes nothing happens. And never ever does anything happen when they say it will.

So I "preordered" on Day One of preordering, but that doesn't mean anything, I suspect.
I officially have SR, but they upgraded me to an SR+ car with an SR software package, after the whole "we're not doing cloth seats" thing (I was one of those 70-some-odd people who actually wanted it, and didn't get forced to pay for the upgrade).
