Deconstructing front seats

Has anyone done this? I'm looking to add a more powerful heating element to the back rest of the seat. I have had back problems and heat greatly helps the driving experience. I have found nice carbon fiber heating components but my question is around access the inside of the seat back. Also, maybe tapping into the harness so it's activated via the factory controls.
