Delivery Experience Vancouver BC

Can anyone from Vancouver elaborate on their delivery experience?

  • Any major issues with the Tesla?
  • Did you accept/reject delivery?
  • Was your appointment on time?
  • What did you bring/what was required?
  • Was the car detailed or was it dirty?
  • Did your specialist give you ample time to look over the car/answer questions?

Like many others I have a Model 3 on order and I'm wondering if taking delivery will leave me happy or frustrated.

do you actually have a VIN and a delivery date?

  • Any major issues with the Tesla?
We had a bunch of water squishing around under the liner in the deeper trunk storage well and a small scratch on the front headlight. Tesla had already noted the scratch, we discovered the water when we got the key cards and were giving the car a more thorough check outside in the sun.

Weeks later, I noticed that the front bumper is a bit misaligned in one spot and that the headlight scratch actually continued down a little bit into the painted part of the bumper. Our drive stalk also has that issue that many others have where the darker coloured part is lifting off the stalk, though I do keep squishing it back down.

  • Did you accept/reject delivery?
Accepted.

  • Was your appointment on time?
Yes, after lots of anxiety and not knowing where our car actually was, we got a delivery date & picked up at the PNE. Everything flowed very smoothly with only a brief wait to get our key cards at the end (I ended up going up to the reception desk and they were just sitting there).

  • What did you bring/what was required?
We brought our driver's licenses and the bank draft for our down payment.

  • Was the car detailed or was it dirty?
It had been pressure washed (with the trunk a bit open, I think, leading to the water-in-trunk issue), but it was dirty around the door/frunk/trunk seals. After waiting 2+ years, this honestly didn't matter much to me and the car was otherwise spotless.

  • Did your specialist give you ample time to look over the car/answer questions?
We had about 15 minutes inside with the delivery specialist - he connected our phones and showed my husband a few things. It was too dark inside to really check everything over, plus I wasn't too concerned about finding things after the fact, since Tesla had found the headlight scratch and noted it beforehand, so it seemed that they wouldn't be likely to dispute anything we found when we looked at it outside.

I just dropped off the car today at a local body shop who is working with Tesla on issues that customers found on delivery. They are going to photograph all the issues and connect with Tesla, who can decide what they want to body shop to fix and what Mobile Service will come to fix. It's been made very clear this whole time that they want to address all the issues and every person we've spoken to at Tesla has been keen to assist us.

Hope that helps a bit!
