I am also having a similar bad delivery experience. I ordered a LR AWD red/white on Feb 12 (over 7 weeks ago!) and I live a few miles from the Fremont factory. So far my experience has been:
- On order, was told there were no inventory cars, and it should take about two weeks for to come off the factory line
- Then, was told over the phone and on my order page "by the end of February"
- On 3/19 received a txt about delivery on 3/21
- On 3/21 received a txt about delivery on 3/29
- Today received a call saying they don't have a car and moved delivery date to 4/12!
At this point the 4/12 seems more of an attempt to avoid me cancelling by pretending that it is coming soon rather than an actual delivery date as no one has any idea when it will actually be made. Tesla are lucky that there isn't another competing car to the Model 3 otherwise I would cancel my order and purchase a car from a company that isn't so incompetent.
The especially frustrating part is that we bought the M3 as a second car because we started to need a second car, and not having it is starting to get very inconvenient. If we had have been told when we ordered that we might not get it for 8+ weeks we would have just picked the black interior.
