The gear on my 2013 Model S 2.5 Door handle broke (changed once during warranty). I ordered a repair kit from Teslarti but it was for the version 1, they are in the process of the return... since I had the car open, i didn't want to waste time finding a gear so I ended up calling my local service center. The guy there sold me a version 3 but "forgot" to mention that there would be a $95 reprogramming fee. The total swap out at Tesla cost $175... I would have easily had them do it for me had I known I have to pay $95 to "recalibrate".
I just didn't like his customer service... he was "obliged" me but didn't tell me the whole story.
I ended up using the V2.5 computer and it works... that said.
