you will always have the latest update sooner or later. doesn't mater whether you purchased FSD or not

Because the updates are for everyone. The included featuress depend on what HW you have. If you check the release notes in your car you’ll see that visualizations are not part of your update.

I see HW4 causing massive unhappiness

I have HW3 and I'm already pissed about HW4. Those future HW4 guys are jerks.

Everyone gets the latest firmware, which is not FSD. If you have HW3 you can see additional “visualizations” on the display showing traffic cones, stop signs, stop lights, etc. Again, that is not FSD, it’s just showing you things that FSD will be able to detect and act on.

If you have HW2.5 you don’t see those things but you still get the other new features in that update.
