First, it's no big deal. Swapping out a defective drive train is a simple thing. Bad components happen. What makes the difference is how they handle it.
Second, if the situation persists more than a couple of days, insist on a Tesla loaner. It's a semi-legit excuse that they're all out at the moment so they give you some random ICE. But that shouldn't continue to be true. When you're putting miles on a car that's nicer than the one you bought, then you don't feel any sense of urgency on getting your own back, or at least that's always been true for me. Serenity rather than angst is a good swap.
