Escort MAX 360 mount options and questions

1. Correct, radar detector will work fine with the new windshield.
2. I could not get my 9500ix or my Max 2 to work off the power on the mirror or the unused plug behind the grill in the headliner so i don't think the 360 will work either. I will be running a direct wire by tapping the accessory fuse in the passenger side footwell fuse panel

I have the max 2 and its working flawlessley in my model s refresh. I have it mounted on my passenger visor. I used a 9500ix mount and cut two dashes in it and made it slimmer. It now fits in my max 2. I found a youtube video of how to do it. They dont make visor clips for the max 2 so I had to make my own

As for the wiring, dont even bother tapping into the rear view mirror. Its so easy to tap it into the cigarette lighter. Check out other posts I have made and youll see where I tapped for power.

That's a good question, but moot for me, as I abandoned my V1 and installed a remotely mounted 9500ci.

I'm hoping this would be the scenario. I really don't want to spend 2-3k installed for ALP system or 9500 system. I just want to use a plain old $300-$400 mirror mount radar detector but need to replace my coated windshield or wait for a stone chip. This happens quite often out here.

You just have to look for yourself. Go out in the sun and look closely at the edge of your windshield. You'll see a orange/red rainbow-type film with an edge. Follow that film's edge toward the rear view mirror and see if it dips down. If it doesn't dip down, and goes all across the top of the frame, the windshield is 100% coated and will affect the detector's operation.
