Estimated cost of repairs?

‘23 model 3. Today, another driver no signal cut in front of me from a left lane after a light change and clipped my drivers side bumper and fender panel. I took his information and license plate. He said he would pay for the repairs. Stupidly, I didn’t call the police. Currently, I am trying to recover the dashcam footage. While I reviewed it multiple times afterwards thinking I had pressed record, the incident was not showing up on the in car footage when attempting to check again 90 minutes later. Tomorrow, and Tuesday will be seeking repair estimates. This was in Miami. At this point, at what point should I contact police or insurance? Also, if y’all could offer any insight on estimated repair cost, it would be greatly appreciated. Total bummer. She was pretty new to me.

Have you called the individual? If they said they would pay, I would give them a chance but expect it to not work out.

After that, your insurance. Police probably won’t help.

Good news is it appears fairly minor (but that doesn’t mean it’s cheap).

Assuming you pulled the USB, you can try searching it with a file recovery program. It rotates out old video after around 60 min.
