If you have a spare hour, this is an information watch about ev fires here in AU from EV FireSafe. Some great stats in the presentation and includes a case study about the model 3 fire which occurred in September last year in Goulburn

Interesting watch. Skimmed through it a bit. We installed a smoke alarm in our garage after getting our Tesla and have thought about our escape path out of the house incase it goes off. None of us will be sticking around to try fight it as the gases are toxic.

Yeah saw that one. Definitely an interesting watch, was great to see all of the extra steps Tesla are taking in terms of safety.

Thanks for sharing that, good information. Many ICE cars have their fuel tank where the truck drive shaft ended up in the Model 3 case.

I would have been interested in a CliffNotes version of that video. It’s 80 minutes long so a bit hard to find that time, especially in a world where watching videos more than about 3 minutes long not in vertical video format seems insane…

Agreed. I watched most of it through, but would have preferred a 10-minute abridged version incorporating the "need to know/watch".

Also noted zero acknowledgement of the difference in terms of fire danger between an LFP and NMC battery.
