Frunk won’t latch closed.

-17 today and opened the frunk to get something out...now it won’t lock.
Next service appointment is December 21st!
Any suggestions?

Good suggestion, but don't have either.
Mobile tech coming at 830 am so can wait till then, as I don't want to drive in present state.

Lock de-icer from a nearby hardware store/gas station? If not, then waiting is probably the best idea. If in a real jam and can't get something to blow hot air or lock de-icer, you could maybe get some hot water and pour it into the mechanism to see if it would melt any ice. I wouldn't trust it to not freeze again though until after a day or so in a heated garage so I'd only do that in a pinch.

Just got to warm up the mechanism. I did it in a garage with a portable heater. Fill up washer fluid so you don't have the similar issue of frunk not opening.

Correct the latch is not engaging.

Yeah, it’s probably just frozen then.

might wanna see if you can get a recommendation for a better grease for cold climates to be applied there.

Tesla came and replaced the latch harness
under warranty. Hopefully problem permanently solved

Replacing the mechanism is a drastic step but obviously effective.
