If you look historically at the Tesla's pricing for model S & X, they have continuously dropped the price, and also made add-on features inclusive within the base price.

So as the tax credit reduces to half in the first half of 2019, it is not hard to imagine that Tesla will drop the price on a Model 3 premium upgrade (currently $5K) to half or less to compensate for it, or for that matter drop the price of LR battery upgrade from $9K to something more practical like $5K.

$43-45K = decent deal for early builds with VIN < 20K (Q1'18 or earlier productions).

Two month’s ago yes But now new LR RWD are getting delivered within a month (average). Exclusivity around reservation is totally gone now for LR RWD.

LR AWD has that now but probably for only 3-6 months and thereafter even LR AWD will be available with not much delay.

my take is that paid price is $56K -7.5K = $48.5K

It is an 2017 build delivered in Q1-2018 with 6K plus mileage on it which is similar to 12K miles per year lease so I would say apply a 6 month depreciation on it.

At 12K miles/year - Tesla depreciate about 48% in three years ( year-1: 20%, year-2: 16%, year-3: 12%)

Based on that, for 6 months it will be 48.5K - 10% = 43.5K. Premium of $1.5K for someone wanting it now so circle it around $45K for fair market value for quick sell. It will only diminish from here.

For comparison, carfax won’t give more than $40K for it as they made $42K offer for same config that is just 1 day old with 50 miles on the odometer.

Wow what has happened to TMC? A reasonably priced M3, and the OP is still getting flak. Lay off and let the man sell his car in peace....

Not sure about reasonable price .. @KCapital is correct ...u can spec same car and with fed tax credit is about the same price without mileage ...if you purchase in California you get 2500 rebate so it’s even cheaper ... this is a Tesla forum so folks will know their prices / values on cars ..I have seen a lot of critique on pricing on many listings here ..obviously seller is entitled to ask what they want but at same time since this a forum they will also get comments ;)

Constructive feedback will allow the spread to shrink between buy/sell prices resulting in faster transactions for both buyer/seller and more liquidity for such fixed assets in marketplace resulting in win-win for everyone.

Alternatives for faster transactions are stealerships and carmax of world with much higher spread between buy/sell price.

Healthy discussion here puts more money in both buyer and seller pocket.

@P85_DA supper happy for the feedback actually, one of the main purposes of posting here. Can't do anything about state-by-state incentives, that's for sure.

@KCapital - thank you for the analysis

GLWS ..either way you are the only one entitled to claim federal credit ...u can claim even if you sell car this year so make sure and do that ;)
