FWD sensor sensitivity

Hi all,

I live in San Francisco, where this is a typical street parking situation:

Are the FWD sensors sensitive enough to detect and avoid small obstructions like the utility pole guy wire and signposts?

That stuff looks at least a foot from the edge of the side walk. The wings do not go out that far from the car.
You can watch the reveal party where the show ho close other things can be to the door and doors still have room to open.

I've seen the reveal video, but it wasn't clear from that demo just how bulky an obstacle needs to be in order to be detected. If the doors never extend out more than a foot or so in any case, that answers my question. Thanks!

So the FAQ says:

Q: What is the maximum width of the falcon wing doors, relative to the widest point of the closed front door? In other words, how much horizontal clearance do the doors need from the side of the vehicle?

A: 18 inches (45.7cm).

That's probably enough space to not worry about these things when parked on the curb.

If FWd cannot see an obstacle it'll open with wider arc since it's faster.
