Ugly as anything that has ever appeared on these pages...

Well, it does look like they got the four wheels right.

But everything else is just flat wrong.
NEVER going to have 21" wheels with low profile tires.
Egads, whose idea is the side vent? RUBBISH!

Looking at the current competitive trucks in the market-place, it must be tallish with adequate ground clearance, high sides with good visibility, large enough bed for 4' x 8' plywood or drywall, possibly second row seats, probably oversize tires (maybe even knobby ones), stout and durable wheels, probably have to lose the aluminum body panels, because people use their trucks to haul ATVS and motorcycles, has a place to put a full size tool box in the bed, pull their boat, haul debris, load dirt and gravel, haul hay to feed the cows, etc.
It already has adequate torque with the electric motor, might even want it to have AWD capabilities.

How all the above is managed in a semi-aerodynamic and even moderately light weight format is for the REAL designers to problem solve, as effectively as the Model S has done to its competition.
The above Photoshop hack-job by Gas2 is just not credible under any circumstance.

People who buy trucks want a certain panache, or they will just keep the one they already have.
Why does the Honda Pickup truck not sell?
Because it is TOO FAR FROM being typical.

Why do the Toyota Pickups sell?
Because they deliver, and are ultra macho.
IF they were made in America (not just assembled in Texas), by an American Company, they would sell even better.

Ford F-150 sold over 645,000 units in 2012.
In the US.
And another 100,000 units in Canada.
The market is there, waiting to be tapped and mined.

My pragmatic view:
Lots of Construction guys (and gals) and farmers would never buy a foreign truck, and trucks are primarily US based product, NOT internationally based.
Oh yeah, Tesla is an American Company...

That's not a "rendering" that's barely even a "photoshop". Its on par with of a pair of scissors or some white-out. I'd slot it in between a "toddlers crayon doodle" and "grade schooler plays with mspaint".
