Good Marks for Autopilot in Poor Road Visibility

Another nasty night around Buffalo area. Driving on I-190 / I-290. Steady rain and poor lane markings. Roads just looked "black" to the eye. Since I was struggling seeing lanes, I turned on autopilot to see how it would perform.

I was very impressed. Tracked lanes well with minimal oscillation. Had the sense that it could see better than I could. I wish I understood algorithms better to know how it performs so well in difficult conditions. Impressive.

Ah yes, of course very relevant. Software version is 2018.48.12.1 Model S was delivered new in July 2018 - so I hope that sufficiently specifies hardware.

On my maiden voyage June 2017 , I was coming out of Bangor Maine on a rainy black night, lots of traffic, hard to see the lines on the road and my AP1 kept me straight and true in the lane, made the journey safe and comfortable.
