As a professional pilot for over 30 years I can say I LOVE the lack of buttons and knobs and doohickeys that the Tesla has.
There is a reason cockpits went from analog dials and switches to flat screens.

The trick is making the end user able to find the info they want when they want it.
So far in my experience my Model S got it right.

Well, as a licensed driver for nearly 40 years, I can say that the lack of buttons and knobs is a real problem when you are driving in traffic and you don't have a co-driver or driver controllers aiding you (along with the onboard computer systems)...But that isn't why we're looking at non-Tesla cars. Of all the things I don't like about Teslas, the use of a touch screen for so many controls isn't near the top of list.
