Its possible but really not recommended. See this post here and that person's Youtube video: My Tesla camperI do not have a large family and would rather have the room.
Can you share a video on this process of removing the 2nd row of seats in a 6-seater? I have searched the internet and come up empty. The dutch camper link doesn't go into any detail about the actual process.Phunkfarm - are you talking about the 2nd row or third? The third row folds down
flush with the level of the rear most "deck". You can, fairly easily (?), remove one
or both of the 2nd row seats. There are videos of how to do that. I had Tesla
service install a 2nd row Tesla made console between the seats and watched the
guy do it. The only part of the job that was less than immediately obvious was
that he had to remove the cover/moulding across the bottom of the door and
then pull back the carpet. There may have been another place on the side of
each seat that would be called the side "between the seats" (don't remember).
After the seats and carpet were out of the way then you 'find' (locate) the
factory holes (threaded) where the console mounts. These could be used to
secure some sort of platform that you might install to have the full distance
behind the front seats (for instance to put your feet into if sleeping in the
back).
The only reason I could see for removing the 3rd row would be to gain space
for storage. I do not know how those come out. If they were removed and
replaced with a 'platform' (plywood) then you would have that space for
storage for stuff related to camping/what ever.
- Hope this helps ... Jim in the PNW
dgates12 - sorry, no video available (that I know of). I had my work done by Tesla service. Can you share a video on this process of removing the 2nd row of seats in a 6-seater? I have searched the internet and come up empty. The dutch camper link doesn't go into any detail about the actual process.
