Looks like this is a Southern California public radio station poll. Elon is behind Jerry Brown, who I like too.

Who was the most influential Californian of the year for 2013?

Janet Napolitano, President of the University of California syste
Marissa Mayer, CEO, Yahoo! Inc.Yasiel Puig, Baseball Player, Los Angeles Dodgers
    Elon Musk, Tesla, SpaceX
Covered California, the state’s health insurance exchange established under the Affordable Care Act
Darrell Issa, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman
Sheryl Sandberg, COO, Facebook; Author, “Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead”
    Jerry Brown, Governor of California
SnapChat, founders Evan Spiegel and Robert Murphy
Kendrick Lamar, Hip Hop artist, 2013 Multi-Grammy Nominated
    Prop 8 Plaintiffs
André Birotte Jr., United States Attorney for the Central Region of California, Department of Justice

    Oh man, tough call.
I also like Brown as he is a progressive and always talks and fights for a "greener" California.
But must vote for Elon. Oh, and he is still in the lead :)

Brown and Elon have some similarities: both are intelligent, follow their own path and have a down to earth quality.
