Why you're comparing it luxury cars? Model 3 is catered to everyday folks. Like a Toyota Camry. Almost the same price.

Most folks who can afford a Camry, do they want to spend money on replacing the suspension every 2 years? In this forum alone, you can find the numerous people posting suspension issues on Tesla.

Can you share some details of these cars you've seen? What vehicles are these? Model 3? Model S? How old were they, in terms of age and mileage? Were these battery replacements for the high voltage battery or the 12V battery? How much did battery replacement cost approximately?

Seems to me like a roll of the dice. High mileage could become a nothing burger or a pain in the butt. No warranty in effect, so you are totally on the hook for required repairs.
The pricing is low enough, that you can get into a Tesla for very little money.
Imagine that most new owers will be very pleased with their purchase, but some will draw the short straw and have lots of problems.

I picked up my LR in June 2019 - currently at 120K+ miles. The only non-normal maintenance issue I’ve had are the upper control arms. I’m keeping it until the next big leap in battery design takes place.
